Recipes

I will add to this page sporadically, updating as I create or remember different recipes. You can substitute ingredients as you need based on sensitivities or preference.

All of these have been tweaked and perfected throughout the years and I want to share them with you!

Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse

Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse:

To enhance your hair care routine, I recommend using an apple cider vinegar rinse. For oily hair, mix 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar with 3/4 cup water. For drier hair, dilute the vinegar by mixing a 1:6 ratio (1 part acv, 6 parts water or tea infusion)

You can also add herbal infusions depending on your hair type:

  • For dark hair, try sage, black walnut hull, or comfrey leaf.

  • For light hair, calendula, chamomile, or comfrey leaf.

Put this mixture into a spray bottle, then spritz onto your hair after washing with the shampoo bar. Rinse with warm water, and if you can handle it, finish with a cold water rinse to boost shine.

Hair Oil Conditioning

For extra moisture and to prevent split ends, try a warm oil conditioning treatment once or twice a month. This is particularly helpful if you have long hair or your hair tends to dry out. I use 2-3 teaspoons of oil for a leave-in treatment, either for a few hours or overnight.

As hair changes with age, I’ve found that an after-shampoo oil spray works wonders for dry hair. You’ll only need a tiny amount—just a few drops massaged through damp hair is perfect. If you prefer, you can use a spray bottle with one or two spritzes—just be careful not to overdo it!

Some of my favorite oils for hair care include: Argan, Jojoba, and Castor

For a boost in hair growth, a gentle scalp massage with castor oil can be beneficial, but be careful with this one—castor oil is thick, so a little goes a long way.

I also have one for sale in my shop; if you'd rather, I have it linked here.
