My Story

As a child, I knew I was different and could feel the energy around me, often noticing things others didn’t. Later, when I became an oncology nurse and took Therapeutic Touch workshops, I finally began to understand these experiences. This curiosity led me to explore meditation and the mind/body connection. Nursing’s stress and physical toll inspired me to deepen my learning. When I became sick, exhausted, and overwhelmed, starting my meditation journey marked a true turning point. As I learned to feel more centered and grounded, I found it easier to manage not only my professional life but also my personal life. Balancing family, work, and health is challenging, and meditation eased that struggle significantly.

A view of a canyon with steep, forested cliffs on either side and a river flowing through the bottom. There are green trees and rocky outcroppings in the foreground, with mountains in the background under a partly cloudy sky.
An elderly woman with gray hair laughing joyfully, wearing a white shirt with a green cloth draped over her shoulders, outdoors with a weathered brick wall in the background.

With a regular meditation practice, over several months, I noticed significant personal transformation. Inspired by these changes, I knew I wanted to teach meditation to others. From 1997-1998, I completed 500 hours of training in Ayurveda, mind-body medicine, and meditation through The Chopra Center in La Jolla, California. Building on this foundation, I became one of the first certified Primordial Sound Meditation instructors in Georgia. My education continued for years, as I learned different techniques and modalities, including Mindfulness Meditation with Jon Cabot Zen, the Relaxation Response with Harvard’s Herbert Benson, and Sound Meditation with Tom Kenyon. My passion expanded into using herbs and natural ingredients for wellness products, further inspired by beekeeping and the gifts from my bees. What started with making products for friends and family grew into having a space in a physical store. Peake Relief products are crafted with love and care, using only the finest organic ingredients.

Meditation was the catalyst that set me on the path towards functional nursing. By combining my background in medicine with my skills in the world of naturopathic practices, I founded Peake Relief. My greatest passion is helping people feel better, and doing so brings me much joy and satisfaction. I strive to tailor an approach to wellbeing and healing that meets your individual needs. Traditional medicine has become one-size-fits-all all feeling, cold and impersonal. I know I want someone who not only has experience and expertise but also listens. I want to make people feel seen, understood, and capable of their own healing. If this sounds like the kind of experience you want let’s work together, let’s discover what Peake Relief looks like for you.
